Media personality Daddy Freeze has admitted to being friends with convicted internet fraudster Ramon Abbas, popularly known as Hushpuppi, despite suspecting that his wealth was not legitimate.
Hushpuppi was arrested by the FBI in 2020 and later convicted in the United States for fraud. Before his arrest, Daddy Freeze had visited his luxury residence in Dubai and shared videos of the meeting, which drew criticism from the public.
In a recent video shared by blogger Tunde Ednut, Daddy Freeze defended his past association with Hushpuppi, stating that he valued their friendship, especially at a time when he felt abandoned.
“Hushpuppi has never given me money before, not even $1. But he gave me friendship when nobody wanted to be my friend because they believed I was the devil,” he said.
He recounted that his first meeting with Hushpuppi happened when he was in Dubai with a group of influencers who, he claimed, did not accept him. According to him, Hushpuppi invited him over at a time when he had been rejected by his former church and many others.
While acknowledging that he had suspicions about Hushpuppi’s source of wealth, Daddy Freeze maintained that he remained loyal to their friendship.
