The Dalchi Foundation institute has empowered over two hundred people with vocational skills, tools and equipment to mark its 3rd graduation ceremony for the year 2024.
In a brief ceremony held on 29 December, 2024 at its corporate headquarters in Isuofia, Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State, the foundation empowered the best graduating students with start up kits and cash for them to establish their own business.
Speaking during the ceremony, the Dalchi foundation institute President and former Commissioner in Anambra State, Engr. Emeka Ezenwanne, said the foundation has successfully graduated about 1000 persons in the last three years of its establishment.
“ Dalchi foundation was born out of the desire to give back to the society, giving people fish always is good but it’s more profitable and sustainable if you teach them how to fish for themselves”.
“The training is one hundred percent free for anybody in Nigeria and we are happy to announce that over 950 people have gained vocational skills in this institution but every year we empower the best three each in the nine skills set,“ Engr Ezenwanne explained.
On his address, the chairman of the occasion, Mr Chike Obiakor ( MD TRACAS) extolled the president and management of the institute for curbing unemployment rate with such a noble idea.
The Chairman equally tasked the beneficiaries to be good ambassadors of the institute and the society.
He said, “ you are selected based on merit as the best graduating students from your skills area. I want you to remain the best always. This is the surest way to show appreciation to your benefactor and the institute “.
Igwe Col. G. O. C Moughalu (Igwe Isuofia ) while making his remarks stated that Engr. Emeka Ezenwanne and the entire Ezenwanne family have been a blessing not only to Isuofia but Anambra State in general. He prayed for continuous blessings on the benefactor, sponsors and the Ndi Anambra in general.
Other speakers like Umeh Hilary Ifechukwu and Okolo Adaobi who were past beneficiaries of the institute gave heartwarming testimonies of how the institute transformed their lives and how they were now employers of labour.
The Dalchi Foundation institute trains students in nine skill areas including; confectionery, fashion and designing , driving school, leather work, graphics and web development, electronics, and others. The training is FREE and is open to everyone. A total of 37 people were empowered this year with equipment and cash support.
Hon. Izuchukwu Okafor ( Commissioner for Finance), Hon. Don Onyenji ( Commissioner for Culture and Tourism), Dr Joe & Dr Mrs Ugochukwu Akabuike ( CMD COUTH), Mr Chike Anyaonu ( MD/CEO ASHDC) and Arc. Michael. M. Okonkwo (Chairman AURC ).
Others were Hon. Emeka Afoka ( Fmr Member ANSHA), Dr Nelson Omenugha (SPAD Youth Empowerment to Gov. Soludo), Hon Valentine Eze ( Son of God ), Dr Jude Emecheta , Mr Chuka Nnabuife (MD/CEO ANCISRO) and Chief Anthony Nchekwube Dunga (Convener APGA Apostles Forum).
