The Delta State Police Command has apprehended a man in his twenties, identified only as Mr. Daniel, for allegedly stabbing a sex worker after a disagreement over payment in Agbor, Ika South Local Government Area.
According to reports from PUNCH Online, the incident occurred on Friday night at a brothel known as Apple Inn, located along the busy Benin/Asaba Expressway. The altercation arose when Mr. Daniel reportedly refused to pay the agreed fee, claiming the sex worker did not allow him to ejaculate during their encounter.
Sources indicate that the argument escalated when the sex worker insisted on receiving the full payment. In a fit of rage, Mr. Daniel allegedly grabbed a knife, possibly from the sex worker’s kitchen, and stabbed her, dragging the blade downward.
Residents nearby alerted the police after the attack. Officers from the Agbor Division responded promptly and found the victim in critical condition, lying in a pool of her blood. The suspect was reportedly on the verge of being lynched by an angry mob at the scene.
The police have confirmed the arrest and stated that the victim was rushed to the hospital for medical attention. The identity of the victim has not yet been disclosed.
A senior police officer from the Agbor Division confirmed that a team was dispatched to the scene following the distress call. The Police Public Relations Officer for Delta State, SP Bright Edafe, mentioned that he had contacted the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) for further details but had not yet received a response.
