Hollywood icon Denzel Washington has revealed that he has Nigerian roots, disclosing that his heritage test shows he is 90 percent Irish and 10 percent Nigerian. The award-winning actor made the revelation during an interview with British-Nigerian media personality Ada Enechi.
“I am 10 percent Nigerian and 90 percent Irish,” Washington shared, surprising many fans with his connection to Nigeria.
In addition to revealing his ancestry, the 69-year-old actor hinted that his career may soon be coming to an end. While promoting his latest film *Gladiator II* in Australia, Washington announced that *Black Panther 3* would likely be one of his final projects before retiring from acting. The actor also mentioned his upcoming roles in *Othello 2* and *King Lear* as part of his farewell to the screen.
