Don Jazzy Donates N100m to VeryDarkMan’s NGO, Sparks Mixed Reactions

During the week, controversial social media figure Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), announced the launch of his non-governmental organization, aimed at raising educational standards for children in public schools. Initially, VDM reported receiving donations amounting to N70 million. However, on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, he was astonished when a staggering N100 million donation was deposited into his Zenith Bank account.

The unexpected funds led VDM to request an investigation from the bank, as he hadn’t received a credit alert. It was soon revealed that the donation came from renowned producer and singer Michael Ajereh, also known as Don Jazzy. Expressing his gratitude, VDM stated, “Let it be known that on the 16th October 2024, this man named Michael Collins Ajereh, aka Don Jazzy, donated N100m to give public school kids advanced education with the aim of providing them with a strong educational foundation.”

As expected, the generous donation stirred reactions on social media. Notably, controversial cross-dresser Okuneye Idris, aka Bobrisky, criticized VDM for accepting Don Jazzy’s donation, accusing him of hypocrisy. Bobrisky pointed out that VDM had previously condemned her for receiving money from the music mogul, stating, “There are some people you should not drag. Don’t drag your helper.”

On the other hand, several celebrities flocked to Don Jazzy’s Instagram page, humorously asking for their own share of his generosity. Singer Zlatan jokingly commented, “Boss, make I drop my OPAY?” while Portable pleaded, “Baba help me. No dey use me motivate people.” Yhemo Lee also added, “Baba mi, I just opened an NGO.”

The donation has brought both praise and controversy, highlighting Don Jazzy’s philanthropic efforts and the complexities of social media interactions.
