Nollywood actress and media personality Dorcas Shola Fapson, popularly known as Ms. DSF, has opened up about a hurtful encounter where a man refused to date her upon learning that she had lost her mother as a child.
During her appearance on the Bahd and Boujee Podcast, co-hosted by reality star Tolanibaj and actress Moet Abebe, Ms. DSF recounted the shocking remark made by the man, who cited her upbringing in a single-parent household as a deterrent to their relationship.
In disbelief, Ms. DSF shared, “The most craziest thing that someone has ever said to me was when I told a guy that I lost my mum as a child and he said he could never date me. He said that he can’t date someone who wasn’t raised in a two-parent household.”
Expressing her frustration, she questioned whether her mother’s passing was her fault, highlighting the unfairness of being judged based on circumstances beyond her control.
Moet Abebe, one of the podcast hosts, empathized with Ms. DSF’s experience, revealing her own encounter with a similar form of discrimination. She shared that a potential partner had rejected her because of her upbringing in a single-parent home, using it as a pretext for ending their relationship.
