The Dr. Charles Kene Ojukwu Foundation, in partnership with the Southeast Region of the Nigeria Medical Students Association (NIMSA) and the Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Medical Students Association, recently organized a free medical outreach for residents of Abatete. Held at the Abatete Civic Centre, the event provided over 200 community members with essential health screenings and consultations.
Medical students and healthcare professionals offered services aimed at addressing key health concerns, including high blood pressure and body mass index checks, personalized counseling, HIV and diabetes screenings, and general physical examinations.
Speaking on behalf of Dr. Ojukwu, the foundation’s Managing Director, foundation manager Mr. Sylvester Ojiugo emphasized that the initiative was driven by a commitment to give back to the community. He announced that the outreach program would be ongoing, with the goal of improving health conditions in Abatete.
Abatete President General, Mr. Ezedinobi Nwadike, expressed gratitude for the foundation’s support, underscoring the importance of such programs in fostering proactive community health measures. Beneficiary Mr. Sunday Onyebuchi also shared his appreciation for the outreach and its impact on local residents.
