Dunamis Church Member, Anyim Vera, Faces Backlash Following Recent Appeal for Financial Assistance

Anyim Vera

Anyim Vera, a member of Dunamis International Gospel Center (DIGC), has come under heavy criticism after her recent plea for financial assistance, following a viral incident where her testimony was called into question by the church’s senior pastor.

The controversy surrounding Vera began when a video clip circulated on social media on April 15, showing Dr. Paul Enenche, the Senior Pastor of DIGC, interrupting Vera’s testimony claiming she was a law graduate due to her incorrect English usage. Vera mentioned she had obtained a BSc in law from the National Open University of Nigeria, prompting Enenche to dismiss her testimony as false, resulting in widespread condemnation and demands for an apology from the pastor.

Subsequently, in a recent video posted on her Facebook page, Vera appealed to Nigerians for financial assistance to secure better accommodation, citing safety concerns with her current living situation.

Vera expressed her unexpected “celebrity” status and the need for support due to her financial constraints. She emphasized feeling unsafe in her current residence and requested assistance for a more secure accommodation.

However, Vera’s appeal received mixed reactions from social media users, with some expressing disappointment and advising her to exercise discretion in her actions. Some comments criticized Vera’s approach, while others urged her to appreciate the blessings she already has and to exercise wisdom in her decisions.
