Edo Queens striker Folashade Ijamilusi has set her sights on winning the FIFA Women’s World Cup with Nigeria’s Super Falcons, following an impressive performance in a recent friendly match.
Ijamilusi netted a hat-trick against Algeria at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos on Tuesday, and shared her excitement about the achievement. “After scoring the first goal, I was so excited. I had to check if I was dreaming,” she told the media.
The young forward also revealed her determination to make a name for herself in Nigerian football. Inspired by Super Falcons star Asisat Oshoala, Ijamilusi said, “I want to win the first-ever World Cup with Nigeria. Despite challenges, I never thought of quitting, even when my dad was against it.”
Ijamilusi, who emerged as the top scorer in the Nigeria Women’s Football League last season, is quickly becoming a rising star in Nigerian women’s football.
