Edo Queens advanced to the final of the CAF Women’s Champions League qualifiers with a 2-1 victory over Inter D’Abidjan on Tuesday night.
Emem Essien opened the scoring for Edo Queens in the seventh minute, followed by Blessing Illivieda, who extended the lead with a goal in the 34th minute. Inter D’Abidjan reduced the deficit with a penalty goal by Adjoua Niamien just one minute after the break.
In the other semi-final, Ainonvi of Benin Republic narrowly defeated Etincelle of Burkina Faso 1-0.
Edo Queens will face Ainonvi in the final, scheduled for Friday at the Stade de la Paix.
