Edo State Government Denies Rumors of Executive Council Dissolution

The Edo State Government has refuted circulating reports that it has dissolved the state executive council and relieved political appointees of their duties.

In a statement on Tuesday, Secretary to the State Government, Osarodion Ogie, dismissed the news as fake and attributed it to mischief makers.

“The Edo State Government debunks the fake news making the rounds on social media alleging that the State Executive Council (EXCO) and appointees have been dissolved,” Ogie said. “The rumour is the handiwork of mischief makers and fifth columnists who are out to cause panic and confusion in pursuit of their selfish agenda.”

Ogie urged all appointees, including Special Advisers, Senior Special Assistants, and Special Assistants, to continue with their duties and disregard the fabricated news.
