Operatives of the Benin Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) apprehended 20 suspected internet fraudsters at various locations in Sapele, Delta State, on Friday.
The EFCC disclosed this in a statement released on its official platform on Friday, detailing the arrests made during a targeted operation based on actionable intelligence regarding the suspects’ alleged involvement in cyber-related fraud activities.
During the operation, law enforcement agents recovered significant evidence, including 12 exotic cars, laptops, and mobile phones, believed to be linked to the illicit activities of the suspects.
The EFCC affirmed its commitment to conducting thorough investigations into the matter, with the intention of charging the apprehended individuals in court upon the conclusion of the inquiry.
