EFCC Arrests 33 Suspected Internet Fraudsters in Port Harcourt

Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Port Harcourt Zonal Directorate, apprehended 33 suspected internet fraudsters during a sting operation on Tuesday in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

According to an official statement from the EFCC, the suspects were arrested in their hideouts in the Iwofe and Ogboro areas of the city, following credible intelligence reports linking them to internet fraud.

During the operation, various items were seized, including mobile phones, laptops, boxes of fake U.S. dollars, counterfeit Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) stamps, customs clearance documents, and fake airport, DHL, and FedEx stamps. Two vehicles were also recovered.

The EFCC confirmed that the suspects will be charged in court after the completion of investigations.
