The Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr. Ola Olukoyede, has urged Nigerians to embrace the spirit of Christmas as a foundation for integrity and a corruption-free society.
Speaking in Abuja on Tuesday, Olukoyede called on citizens to align with the ideals of light, joy, hope, and truth symbolized by the festive season. He emphasized these values as critical pathways to achieving zero tolerance for corruption in Nigeria.
Reflecting on the EFCC’s progress over the past 18 months, Olukoyede attributed successes to the unwavering support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the judiciary’s commitment. He praised the collaborative efforts that have strengthened the anti-corruption fight.
“I deeply believe in the prospects of our nation for growth and development,” Olukoyede said. “We can make Nigeria greater if we embrace the values of light, joy, hope, truth, and liberty that Christ brought to the world, which are significant pathways to integrity and zero tolerance for corruption.”
He also acknowledged the judiciary’s professionalism and courage, which have bolstered the EFCC’s efforts. Olukoyede expressed optimism for further advancements in the coming year, with continued collaboration from all stakeholders.
The EFCC chairman concluded by wishing all Nigerians a Merry Christmas and reiterating the importance of collective responsibility in building a prosperous and corruption-free nation.
