Eight Teams Secure Spots for 2025 AFCON in Morocco

At least eight countries have qualified for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), which will be held in Morocco. The teams include Congo, Senegal, Egypt, Angola, Cameroon, Algeria, Burkina Faso, and host nation Morocco.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) confirmed the qualifications through a series of posts on their X (formerly Twitter) account on Tuesday.

Congo, Senegal, Egypt, and Angola secured their places after winning crucial matches on the same day. Congo triumphed 2-0 over Tanzania at the Benjamin Mkapa National Stadium, Angola defeated Niger Republic 1-0, Egypt narrowly beat Mauritania 1-0, and Senegal claimed a 1-0 victory over Malawi.

These teams join previously qualified nations in the highly anticipated continental tournament.
