Ekefyn Global Concepts marked a significant milestone with the inauguration of its inaugural arts exhibition, held in Okpuno, Awka South Council Area of the state.
Titled “The Suspension of Disbelief,” the exhibition drew a diverse audience, including students from Awka metropolis, parents, and art enthusiasts, all gathered to explore the historical narratives conveyed through art.
The showcased artworks predominantly depicted various stages of communal life prior to colonization and Western influence, serving as a visual journey through heritage and tradition.
Founder of Ekefyn Global Concepts, Miss Ekeoma Ahumaraeze, guided attendees, emphasizing the power of art as a storytelling medium. Specializing in pencil, pastel, and oil mediums, she shared her personal journey of capturing nature’s beauty from her upbringing in traditional African settings.
Despite lacking formal art education, Ahumaraeze’s dedication and mentorship under Mr. Chinedu Chukwurah led her to become an accomplished artist. Her exhibition title, “The Suspension of Disbelief,” symbolizes her unconventional path to artistry.
Ahumaraeze announced plans to establish an exhibition office in Awka, underscoring the commitment to promote and preserve local history and culture.
Mrs. Okuefuna-Chinyere Eziuzor, alongside Mr. Obijiofor Obiekezie, a school principal, commended Ekefyn Global Concepts for exposing students to the arts. They emphasized the importance of nurturing artistic talents and fostering cultural appreciation among the youth.
Student attendees, Chimamada Nwaibe and Chibueze Chinatuanya, expressed gratitude for the enriching experience, noting how it broadened their understanding of culture and the art world.
The maiden edition of the arts exhibition not only showcased talent but also served as a platform for cultural education and community engagement, leaving a lasting impact on attendees.
