Enugwu Village, Adazi-Enu, in Anaocha Local Government Area of Anambra State, celebrated its annual cultural day with a blend of tradition, recognition, and development-focused initiatives.
The 2025 Village Day celebration, held at the Enugwu Village Hall, showcased the community’s rich cultural heritage while fostering unity and progress. Highlights included award presentations and empowerment programs targeting women and youth.
The event was organized following the royal proclamation by the traditional ruler of Adazi-Enu, Igwe Alphonsus Okpalaechelu, who designated January 1 as the official date for the celebration. The monarch emphasized that the day symbolizes shared heritage and collective aspirations, praising the Enugwu Village Chairman, Barr. Jideofor Okongwu, for his dedication to the community.
Speaking at the event, Barr. Okongwu called the celebration a vital tool for uniting and advancing the village while appealing for state government intervention in addressing the poor state of roads in the area.
Notable awardees included Dr. Loris Ejindu, Mrs. Mabel Ezeokongwu, and Pastor Ikenna Enebuwa, who collectively prayed for continued peace, unity, and prosperity in the community.
In a goodwill message, the Mayor of Njikoka Local Government Area, Barr. Chinedu Ononiba, commended the event for aligning with Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s vision of a livable and prosperous Anambra. He encouraged the beneficiaries of the empowerment initiatives to make the most of the opportunities provided.
