Exportation Expert Urges South Eastern Investors to Explore Export Opportunities

South Eastern investors received a call to redirect their focus towards export opportunities rather than imports, during a one-day seminar titled “Cheap Dollars Made Easy, Export Now” held in Onitsha.

Dr. Onyinye Okpah, Export Director of Denca Global Courier, DGC Express, emphasized the profitability and economic benefits of exportation over importation. Speaking at the seminar organized by DGC Express in collaboration with the Committee on Export of the Anambra State Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Dr. Okpah urged businessmen and farmers to recognize the potential value of their products in the global market.

Highlighting DGC Express’s three-decade experience in the export sector, Dr. Okpah encouraged investors, particularly those from Anambra, to capitalize on export opportunities, citing data indicating their significant role as importers in Nigeria.

She stressed the importance of adhering to international standards and certification processes to ensure product acceptance and success in the global market. Dr. Okpah projected economic growth, increased foreign exchange earnings, and enhanced government revenue through export activities.

Mrs. Henrietta Basil-Ideh, Secretary of the Anambra State Committee on Export and Director of Commerce, Anambra State Ministry of Commerce and Industry, commended the progress made by Ndi Anambra in export, highlighting the formation of certified export clusters. She emphasized the partnership with DGC Express to facilitate and streamline the exportation process.

Chief Basil Ozor, Chairman of the International Textile Market, Bridge-Head, Onitsha, expressed satisfaction with the seminar’s insights into the potential profitability of exportation. He commended Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s efforts in advancing the export sector, urging the Onitsha business community to align with his vision to establish Anambra as an international business hub.

Mrs. Bridget Obi, South East Coordinator of Women In Export, praised DGC Express for promoting value addition strategies for agricultural produce.

Additional contributions were made by Mr. Francis Ilodiuba, Director of Market, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, and Mrs. Edith Ikenye, representing the Nigerian Export Promotion Council, Anambra State. The event also featured a question and answer session, fostering engagement and knowledge sharing among participants.
