Human rights lawyer, Femi Falana (SAN), and his son, popular rapper and activist Folarin Falana, known as Falz, have given controversial crossdresser Bobrisky a 12-hour ultimatum to retract defamatory statements made against them. The ultimatum follows claims by Bobrisky in leaked audio that Falana and Falz had approached him, offering to secure a presidential pardon for N10 million.
The accusation, which surfaced in audio released by social media critic VeryDarkMan, has sparked widespread debate across social media platforms. Both Falana and Falz have strongly denied the claims, labeling them as false and damaging to their reputations.
In response, a cease-and-desist letter dated October 14, 2024, was issued by Falana and Falana’s Chamber, demanding a public retraction and apology from Bobrisky. The letter, signed by lawyers Taiwo E. Olawanle and Olorunfemi Akinyemi, describes Bobrisky’s statements as defamatory and malicious.
The letter reads, “You have published a list of individuals who believed your fabricated story and contributed millions of naira, supposedly to pay our client to write a letter of pardon and bribe public officers on your behalf. Your decision to involve our client in your criminal activities was purely a figment of your imagination.”
Falana and Falz have warned Bobrisky that failure to issue a formal retraction and public apology within 12 hours will lead to legal action, including the pursuit of monetary damages for the defamatory statements.
