The International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA) has reaffirmed its dedication to providing free legal services to the oppressed, particularly women and children.
The Anambra State chapter of FIDA made this known during a courtesy visit to the Managing Director of Anambra Broadcasting Service (ABS), Mr. Christopher Molokwu, at the station’s corporate headquarters in Awka.
Speaking during the visit, the Chairperson of FIDA Anambra, Barrister Amara Muojeke, emphasized that the organization is a non-governmental body of female lawyers committed to promoting and protecting the rights of women and children. She encouraged victims of oppression to seek their pro bono legal services to ensure justice prevails.
Barrister Muojeke also called for a partnership between FIDA and ABS to create more awareness about human rights, noting that ABS has undergone significant improvements and now competes with global media standards.
In response, Mr. Molokwu praised FIDA for its humanitarian efforts and assured the association of ABS’s support in raising public awareness about legal rights and social justice.
