A fire outbreak occurred at Ogbosisi Market around 8:45 pm on Wednesday, prompting a swift response from the Police and Fire Service operatives who successfully brought the situation under control.
In a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the Anambra State Police Command confirmed that no lives were lost in the incident. However, the worth of goods destroyed is yet to be determined.
To maintain order, police operatives have cordoned off the scene to prevent hoodlums from exploiting the situation to loot properties and goods belonging to traders in the market.
SP Tochukwu Ikenga further disclosed that the Command has commenced an investigation to ascertain the cause of the fire.
