First Bank Dismisses System Upgrade Rumors, Assures Customers of Uninterrupted Services

First Bank of Nigeria has addressed rumors regarding a supposed system upgrade, clarifying that its operations remain fully functional without any disruptions. In a recent statement, the bank explained that the message initially shared was solely for its vendors and referred to the transition from its existing I-Supplier Platform to a new Cloud-based Supplier Platform. This transition, aimed at enhancing vendor management, has no impact on customer banking services.

“We wish to address a misleading report circulating in the media regarding a system upgrade at FirstBank,” the statement read. “The message was sent to, and intended for our vendors only, focusing on the shift to a world-class platform for managing suppliers, adding capabilities and benefits specifically for them.”

First Bank reassured customers that all banking channels, transactions, and services remain unaffected by the supplier platform upgrade. The bank advised customers to disregard unfounded reports and consult official channels for accurate information.

“Rest assured that our commitment to seamless service delivery remains unwavering as you continue to enjoy uninterrupted access to our services,” the bank’s management affirmed.
