Police detectives have apprehended five suspected kidnappers who reportedly fell asleep after abducting a pastor’s wife and two other individuals.
The suspects allegedly succumbed to drowsiness induced by hard drugs, enabling the victims to escape. Garuba Mumuni (27), Yusuf Tale (21), Kabiru Muhammed (16), Shaibu Umar, and Adamu Mohammed (22) were identified as the arrested individuals.
According to Vanguard, the victims managed to flee from their captors on separate occasions after the perpetrators fell asleep due to drug consumption. The incident, which involved the pastor’s wife, a church member, and an individual picking snails on a farm, was reported to the Ofosu Division.
Through diligent investigation, officers from the Ofosu Division apprehended five of the six kidnappers after the victims identified one of them. State Police Commissioner Abayomi Oladipo confirmed that the suspects, identified by the victims as part of the abduction gang, would face legal proceedings.
In a related development, Oladipo disclosed the arrest of Adetokunbo Adesina, who allegedly confessed to being hired to kill over 500 individuals. Adesina was apprehended after receiving N110,000 from his last victim.
