Flutterwave Named Among Top 250 Fintech Companies Globally by CNBC

Flutterwave, a leading payments technology company, has been recognized among the top 250 fintech companies in the world by CNBC in partnership with market research firm Statista. The prestigious recognition is part of the “World’s Top Fintech Companies 2024” report, which includes companies across various market categories.

Seven African firms made the list, reflecting the continent’s growing influence in the fintech sector. The recognized companies are:

– **Kuda (Nigeria/UK)** – Neobanking
– **MTN (South Africa)** – Payments
– **PalmPay (Nigeria)** – Payments
– **Piggyvest (Nigeria)** – Financial Planning
– **Yoco (South Africa)** – Payments

For the 2024 edition, CNBC editors selected standout organizations from each market segment based on their newsworthiness and impact. The selection process focused on analyzing and weighting general key performance indicators (KPIs) and segment-specific KPIs for each category.

CNBC highlighted that fintech companies, driven by technological advancements and expanding global markets, are shaping the future of financial services. Flutterwave, in particular, has played a crucial role in enabling global multinationals like Uber to expand into African markets seamlessly. The company also facilitates remittances from the African diaspora, supporting families, businesses, and various other needs.

Recently, Flutterwave was appointed to the Milken Institute’s Africa Leaders Business Council, which comprises thought leaders, entrepreneurs, investors, and experts from business, technology, finance, and innovation.
