Leading African payments technology company, Flutterwave, has partnered with the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) to enable digital tax collections, making it one of the few fintech firms supporting the modernization of Nigeria’s tax payment system.
The partnership allows FIRS to utilize Flutterwave’s secure payment infrastructure to collect taxes, levies, and other payments from businesses and individuals across the country. The integration is designed to simplify tax payments for individuals, small and medium enterprises (SMEs), and large corporations, ensuring a fast and transparent process.
Flutterwave’s system offers diverse digital payment options, real-time reporting, tracking capabilities, and offline tax payment support, making it easier for Nigerians, including those in the diaspora, to fulfill their tax obligations seamlessly.
CEO of Flutterwave, Olugbenga ‘GB’ Agboola, emphasized the company’s commitment to leveraging technology for national development. “By making tax payments easier and more transparent, we are helping to digitize government collections and support economic growth,” he said.

In addition to its role in tax collection, Flutterwave has also partnered with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to establish a cybercrime research center, further demonstrating its commitment to financial security and technological advancement.
