Nigeria’s Flying Eagles were held to a 1-1 draw by Chile in an international friendly played in Rancagua on Saturday.

Ahmed Akinyele put Nigeria ahead in the 18th minute with a well-placed header, but Chile equalized ten minutes later through Felipe Faúndez.

The Flying Eagles will face Australia in another friendly next Tuesday as part of their preparations for the 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup.

Coach Aliyu Zubairu’s team is drawn in Group F of the tournament alongside Norway, Colombia, and Saudi Arabia.
