Former Anambra Gov’t Appointees Meet, Pass Vote Of Confidence On Soludo

— Declare Support For His Re-election

Political appointees that served between 2014 – 2022 comprising heads of agencies, members of boards, council chairmen, senior special assistants, special assistants, executive assistants, and others under the administration of Former Governor Willie Obiano, Sunday, June 30, 2024 held its inaugural meeting at Jesse Hotel, Awka where they passed vote of confidence on the Governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, CFR., and further declared to work for his reelection.

The communique issued at the meeting and signed by the trio of Chief Chika Ibeneme, Hon. Igboanugo Ernest Elochukwu and Victor Ezeonwumelu esq. read in part:
” That we wish to make it categorically clear that we are members of All Progressives Alliance (APGA) and wish to so remain for reason of the outstanding performance of the APGA led government in the State.
” We hereby UNAMBIGUOUSLY, FREELY & UNCONDITIONALLY pass a Vote of Confidence on Mr Governor to conclude the good works he started in the State; CONSEQUENTLY, WE HEREBY RESOLVE & PLEDGE that we shall work for Mr Governor’s re-election for a second term in office as our Leader under our great party – APGA.”

Earlier in his remarks, one of the Conveners of the meeting, Chief Chika Ibeneme commended the Governor for his giant strides in the areas of infrastructure, healthcare and teachers recruitment amongst others.

Dr Alex Obiogbolu, the Special Adviser to Governor Soludo on Political Matters informed the meeting that yesterday was his second most happiest day since joining the All Progressives Grand Alliance party pointing out that APGAs electoral victory during the 2023 general elections was his first. He thanked the former appointees for coming together under one forum and encouraged them to continue giving their support to the government of Anambra state, the party – APGA, and Governor Soludo.

On his part, the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Chief Ernest Ezeajughi stated that Anambra is APGA land and that he is sure that ndi Anambra cannot trade their state for anything.

Mr Ezeajughi opined that few individuals who left the party will naturally return to APGA as according to him, no other political party can do for ndi Anambra what APGA is doing now.

While commending the organizers of the event and participants, he thanked them for their vote of confidence on the governor and their support for his second term reelection and informed that their prayers and requests will be tabled before the Governor and that he is sure that the governor will give it the attention it deserves.

In their separate remarks, Chief Nchekwube Anthony Dunga, Convener, APGA Apostles Forum and Hon. Chief Peter Nwosu (Peter NUPENG) thanked Governor Soludo for making ndi APGA and Anambra proud through his numerous developmental projects and national visibility.

Commissioner for Information, Mr Paul Nwosu, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr Christian Aburime, Transition Committee Chairman of Idemili North LGA, Chief Stanley Nkwoka, Dr Onyeka Ebenebe, Hon. Uche Lake Umerie were others that attended the event.
