The Rivers State Police Command has arrested four suspects in connection with the disappearance of Yahya Faruq, a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member, who went missing in Ikuru town, Andoni Local Government Area. Faruq, who was serving at Mixed Secondary School in the area and also working part-time at LDM Chinese Milling Company, has not been seen since Monday, October 14, 2024.
The police spokesperson, Grace Iringe-Koko, confirmed the arrests and stated that investigations are ongoing. She also revealed that the Commissioner of Police, Mustapha Mohammed, met with NYSC officials regarding the case. “Four persons have been arrested and transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation,” she said.
The Muslim Students’ Society of Nigeria (MSSN) expressed deep concern over Faruq’s disappearance, noting that his bag and phone were returned to his primary place of assignment by his part-time employer, heightening fears surrounding his fate.
The police and NYSC authorities are working to uncover the mystery behind Faruq’s disappearance as the community awaits further developments.
