Governor of Anambra state, Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo has declared that following the free antenatal and delivery policy of the state government, Anambra has recorded about 82888 births and over 400 Caesarean sections with near zero mortality.
Professor Soludo stated this moments ago when he appeared via zoom on Sunrise Morning show on channels television and anchored by Ayo Makinde and Alero Edu. The duo congratulated the Governor and Anambra state for winning the best in South East and Nigeria in primary healthcare leadership challenge which was powered by the Nigeria Governor’s Forum, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Aliko Dangote Foundation, Federal Ministry of Health, and UNICEF.
The Governor informed the viewers that his political party, APGA was the foremost progressive party in Nigeria with its motto as be your brother’s and sister’s keeper. The governor said that his administration was intentional about not leaving anyone behind in achieving a prosperous homeland where everyone will live, work and enjoy.
He pointed out that his government was building five new general hospitals and refurbished 3 others making it 8 brand new hospitals that his administration was undertaking.
” We are building truama centre, some say its about the biggest in Nigeria or Africa and cancer centre. We have 326 wards in Anambra state and we are refurbishing their infrastructure, water, solar and others. We recruited over 1000 health workers and deployed them to various hospitals and health institutions in the state.”
Furthermore, Governor Soludo siad his government introduced an innovation called Telemedicine where people can have 24-hour access to a medical doctor by using the call service once they are in a ward.
” We have a policy of free antenatal, free delivery services in anambra state. We’ve recorded about 82888 beneficiaries. We pay for all expenses. We have recorded over 400 caesarean sections successfully executed. All expense paid. With near zero mortality rate in just over two years in office”, the Governor informed.
