Galatasaray deputy chairman İbrahim Hatipoğlu has expressed the club’s desire to retain Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen on a permanent basis beyond his current loan deal. Osimhen, who joined the Turkish Super Lig champions on a season-long loan from Napoli earlier this month, has been a key addition to the squad.
Despite reports suggesting a potential January exit for the 25-year-old, Hatipoğlu dismissed the claims, affirming that Osimhen will remain with Galatasaray until June and possibly beyond.
“Osimhen leaving in January is out of the question,” Hatipoğlu told *NTVSpor*. “We are actually making plans to have him play next season as well. He is a Galatasaray player until June, and discussing his departure only distracts from his impressive performances.”
Hatipoğlu emphasized that Osimhen is content at the club and hinted at the possibility of extending his stay. “A player performs where he is happy, and Osimhen is very happy here. He has a contract with us until the end of the season, and we should focus on the future with him at Galatasaray,” he added.
Osimhen has made an immediate impact at Galatasaray, contributing two assists in his first two appearances for the club.
