Governor Chukwuma Soludo has conferred certificates of recognition on three newly elected traditional rulers in Anambra State. The ceremony took place at the Governor’s Lodge, Amawbia, and marked the end of long-standing monarchial vacancies in the respective communities.
The newly recognized monarchs are:
– **Igwe Obiora Anachuna** of Nkwelle Ezunaka in Oyi Local Government Area
– **Igwe Timothy Ofurunwa** of Ihite in Orumba South Local Government Area
– **Igwe Francis Chikezie** of Azia in Ihiala Local Government Area
Governor Soludo congratulated the traditional rulers, reminding them of their responsibilities to unify their communities and ensure peace, progress, and security. He emphasized the importance of their roles, urging them to uphold the trust placed in them by their people.
Speaking at the event, the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Mr. TonyCollins Nwabunwanne, explained that the monarchs emerged following a thorough screening process.
