The Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo, alongside his wife, Mrs. Nonye Soludo, has flagged off the construction of two major road projects in Nnewi aimed at improving connectivity and economic growth in the state.
The projects include the 10.8km Nkwo Oraifite to Nkwo Nnewi Road and the 5.8km Oraifite Civic Center—Afiaụzọ—Akwukwu—Owerri—Onitsha Road, both designed with standard flood and erosion control measures.
Speaking at the event, Mrs. Soludo highlighted the significance of the projects, stating that they would enhance strategic connectivity and contribute to Anambra’s economic development. “Anambra is opening up. Step by step, we’ll build that state of our dream,” she said.
Governor Soludo emphasized the inclusion of erosion control measures, with sections of the roads requiring major work on erosion-prone areas measuring 10 to 30 meters wide and 20 to 22 meters deep. He assured that the projects would be completed within 12 months, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to infrastructure development.
“We are connecting Anambra, one road at a time. May Anambra continue to win!” the governor stated.
