For decades, the Aguleri-Otu communities of Eziagulu-Otu, Enugwu-Otu, and Mkpunando-Otu in Anambra State faced neglect, with little to no government presence. However, Governor Chukwuma Soludo has changed that narrative, fulfilling the promises he made during his 2021 gubernatorial campaign.
Three years into his administration, multiple projects are now at various stages of completion in the area, including road construction and the establishment of a general hospital. Notably, work has commenced on an eight-kilometer stretch of the Enugwu-Otu to Eziagulu-Otu road.
Speaking to ABS News, the Traditional Ruler of Mkpunando-Aguleri, Igwe Johnson Onyeaka-Mbanefo, praised Governor Soludo for being the first leader in the state’s history to keep his word to the community. He pledged continued support for the administration, emphasizing how the development projects are transforming their lives.
As an agrarian community, Igwe Onyeaka-Mbanefo noted that the lack of infrastructure had long hindered their ability to transport farm produce. He expressed gratitude for the progress being made under Governor Soludo’s leadership, calling it a long-awaited relief for the people.
