Governor Soludo Launches STEM Education, Distributes Science Equipment to Anambra Schools

In a bid to elevate the education system in Anambra State to global standards, Governor Chukwuma Soludo has officially launched the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education initiative. Alongside this, he flagged off the distribution of science laboratory equipment to public secondary schools across the state.

The launch event, held at Capital City Secondary School in Awka, showcased various science laboratory equipment procured by the Soludo administration. The first batch of 60 public schools will be the initial beneficiaries of the distribution.

Representing Governor Soludo at the event, Deputy Governor Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim emphasized the importance of science and technology in today’s digital world. He assured that the state government will continue to equip all public secondary schools with essential laboratory tools to enhance science education and better prepare students for the future.

The governor urged teachers at the recipient schools to make full use of the equipment, ensuring that students are well-versed in scientific knowledge to compete globally.

In her remarks, Professor Nkechi Ikediugwu, Chairman of the Post Primary Schools Service Commission, praised the governor’s efforts to transform the education sector. She noted the growing significance of science and technology in everyday life and stressed the importance of equipping students to embrace STEM.

The Traditional Ruler of Awka, Obi Gibson Nwosu, represented by the town’s Prime Minister, Chief Benjamin Okoye, commended Governor Soludo’s foresight in preparing Anambra for the future. He described the distribution of laboratory equipment as a crucial step in advancing education across the state.
