Governor Soludo Pledges Commitment to Youth Empowerment with Digital Skills at Anambra Innovation Week

Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo of Anambra State has reiterated his administration’s dedication to empowering the state’s youth with world-class skills, particularly in digital fields, to help them succeed in a rapidly evolving global economy.

Speaking through his deputy, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim, during the opening of Anambra Innovation Week at the International Convention Center, Awka, Governor Soludo emphasized the importance of equipping young people with the tools they need to thrive in the modern world. The event, themed *”Creating the Future of Africa Now,”* marks a significant step towards building a robust digital economy in the state.

Governor Soludo revealed that under his leadership, the state government has already trained 25,000 youths in various skill sets, many of whom are now self-reliant and job creators. He expressed the government’s commitment to expanding this initiative by providing more opportunities for youth to gain digital and other critical skills that will help them contribute meaningfully to the economy.

The Governor urged the participants of the Anambra Innovation Week to take full advantage of the learning opportunities provided, encouraging the instructors to offer their best guidance to help the youths develop digital solutions that can address local challenges and contribute to Africa’s future.

In her address, Ms. Chinwe Okoli, Special Adviser to the Governor on Innovation and Business Incubation and convener of the event, highlighted that Anambra Innovation Week is aimed at celebrating the state’s innovative spirit, fostering collaboration within Nigeria, and shaping the digital future of both Anambra and the broader African continent.
