Governor Soludo Receives Sallah Homage from Anambra Muslim Community

In a gesture of goodwill and tradition, the Muslim community in Anambra State paid a Sallah homage to Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, CFR, on June 18, 2024. The delegation, led by Alhaji Sani Onyeabo Ejoh, Vice President General and Chairman of Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI) in Anambra State, was warmly received by Governor Soludo at the Governor’s Lodge in Amawbia.

Alhaji Ejoh expressed the delegation’s gratitude for the governor’s hospitality and highlighted their visit as a traditional Sallah homage to the state’s leader. During the visit, Ejoh congratulated Governor Soludo on his recent accolades, including the Governor of the Year in Infrastructure and Rural Development by Champion Newspapers, and the Best Governor of the Year in the Growth and Development of Democracy in Nigeria by Leadership Score Card magazine.

Commending Governor Soludo’s efforts in improving security and infrastructure, Ejoh urged the governor to maintain his commendable work. He also used the opportunity to request the reconstitution of the Anambra State Pilgrims Welfare Board.

Governor Soludo thanked the delegation for their visit and acknowledged the importance of the Sallah celebration’s lessons, such as sacrifice, unity, and faith in Almighty Allah. Emphasizing the strength found in Nigeria’s diversity, he stated, “Unity in diversity is our strength. We must maximize our unity as our strength to build a stronger and better society.”

In addition, Governor Soludo inaugurated the Pilgrims Welfare Board and encouraged Nigerians to live in harmony and support their governments.

The delegation included notable figures such as Alhaji Garba Haruna, Sarkìn Hausawa Awka; Alhaji Yushau Ilyasu, Sarkin Hausawa Onitsha; Alhaji Abdul Rasaki Olaham, Oba Yoruba Kabiyesi, Awka; Gidado Siddiki, Sarkin Fulani Deputy Gen, Miyetti Allah MACBAN; Ach Bashir Mohammed Modibbo; and Onwumelu Musa Hamza.

Representing the government were Chief of Staff Mr. Ernest Ezeajughi, Bar JPC Aneto, Mr. Patrick Estate Onyedum, and Beverly Ikpeazu, Commissioner for Special Duties, among others.
