Governor Chukwuma Soludo has launched “Operation Udo Ga-Achi,” a comprehensive security initiative aimed at addressing rising crime rates and ensuring the safety of Anambra residents.
During the event at the International Convention Centre, Awka, the Governor signed the Anambra State Homeland Security Bill into law and unveiled 200 vehicles designed to enhance the operations of security agencies. He promised further investments in security logistics and technology.
The initiative includes the deployment of a 2,000-strong special force comprising personnel from the police, army, navy, civil defence, DSS, and other specialized units. Advanced technology such as an AI-powered surveillance system, a command-and-control network, and a seamless communication network for security agencies will support the operation.
Governor Soludo urged citizens to remain vigilant and actively participate in local safety initiatives, emphasizing that collective efforts are vital to transforming Anambra into a secure state.
The Commissioner of Police, Mr. Nnaghe Obono Itam, and Special Adviser to the Governor on Security, AVM Ben Chiobi (Rtd.), assured the public of their commitment to collaboration and innovation in safeguarding communities.
