Governor Chukwuma Soludo has announced plans to construct a major road linking St. Augustine Rest Assured Hotel to Community High School and the Umunze Ultra-Modern Market in Orumba South Local Government Area.
During his visit to the community, Governor Soludo highlighted the road’s importance as it connects Umunze to the Umuchu Bypass. He also made stopovers at Ogbunka and Owerre-Ezukalla communities, engaging with residents and stakeholders.
Speaking at Nkwo Umunze, the Governor acknowledged the area’s strategic significance despite ongoing security challenges. He urged residents to support the government’s fight against insecurity and warned those involved in criminal activities to desist. He also encouraged the youth to take an active role in promoting peace and safety.
As part of his broader development agenda, Governor Soludo revealed plans to develop the Owerre-Ezukalla waterfall and cave, alongside the Ogbunike cave, to boost tourism in the state.
Mayor of Orumba South Local Government Area, Mr. Shaedrack Azubuike, expressed gratitude for the Governor’s efforts to revamp the region, while the Commissioner for Agriculture, Dr. Foster Ihejiofor, described his leadership as a beacon of hope.
Community leaders, including Presidents General from Owerre-Ezukalla, Umunze, and other areas, commended Governor Soludo’s initiatives and appealed for further development projects.
The Governor was accompanied by key officials, including his Chief of Staff, Mr. Ernest Ezeajughi; Special Adviser on Markets, Chief Evarist Uba; Chairman of the Anambra State Urban Regeneration Council, Architect Mike Okonkwo; CEO of Seahorse Lubricants, Dr. Ebuka Onunkwo; and traditional rulers from the affected communities.
