In honor of this year’s Children’s Day, Mrs. Nonye Soludo, the wife of the Anambra State governor and founder of the Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo Initiative, visited the Model Community Children’s Home in Awka. The celebration, set for May 27, 2024, saw Mrs. Soludo preparing lunch and participating in various activities with the children.
This gesture mirrors a similar visit she made to the home during last year’s Children’s Day celebrations. After cooking and dining with the children, Mrs. Soludo emphasized her commitment to providing support and a motherly presence, encouraging the children to dream big and achieve their goals.
Highlighting the importance of constant care, Mrs. Soludo noted that her frequent visits are aimed at ensuring the well-being of the children. She reiterated her dedication to helping them grow into successful individuals.
The governor’s wife explained that her hands-on approach, including personally preparing lunch, is intended to exemplify the values of a caring and supportive mother. She stressed the importance of love, protection, and providing opportunities for children to thrive without facing social, economic, or cultural barriers.
Reverend Sister Philomena Akuchukwu, the caretaker of the home, praised Mrs. Soludo’s unwavering support and described her personal involvement as a display of humility and compassion that all women should aspire to emulate.
