Group Hosts Inter-School Quiz Competition in Nnobi

Investment in education remains the greatest legacy that can be left for the younger generation and it pays the best interest. This philosophy was epitomized by philanthropist Chief Okwudili Ugochukwu, who sponsored the inaugural edition of an inter-school quiz competition for secondary schools in Nnobi, Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra State.

The competition, organized by the Nnobi Youth Graduate Forum under the aegis of the Association of Nnobi Youths, aimed to promote academic excellence, teamwork, and healthy competition among the secondary schools in Nnobi.

Eight schools participated in the competition, which was structured into three rounds. At the end of the event, Zion Secondary School, Nnobi emerged as the grand winner, followed by Christ The King Seminary School, Nnobi in second place, and Our Lady’s Secondary School, Nnobi in third.

Governor of Anambra, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, represented by his Special Adviser on Youth Empowerment Programmes, Dr. Nelson Omenugha, commended Chief Ugochukwu for his significant contribution to human capital development. He emphasized that education is the bedrock of society and the best legacy a society can leave for its children, encouraging students to excel in their academics to achieve their dreams.

Chief Ugochukwu, represented by Chief CharlyPaul Obidike, expressed his love for education and advised students to study hard and make the best use of their time. He announced gifts and a one-year scholarship for the grand winners.

Hon. Ebuka Igwe, the member representing Idemili South in the Anambra State House of Assembly, represented by Mr. Ifeanyi Agu, Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Nnobi Ward Three, also urged students to embrace education.

Various community leaders, including the President General of Nnobi, Barrister Dominicsavio Okpala, Youth Leader Mr. Chiagoziem Akonu, Woman Leader Lady Ifenyinwa Nnekwelugo, Chairman of Ngo Village Dr. Patrick Mbanefo, and the Chairman of the planning committee of the competition, Comrade Udoka Ezeimo, prayed for God’s blessings on Chief Ugochukwu for using his resources to promote education in the community.

The event featured the presentation of gifts to participants and other attractions such as dance and drama.
