The member representing Oyi and Ayamelum Federal Constituency in the Federal House of Representatives, Honourable Lady Maureen Gwacham yesterday, Friday, December 13, 2024, donated a set of band to pupils of Ogbundo primary school, Nkwelle Ezunaka, Oyi Local Government Area.
Honourable Gwacham who was represented by the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Soludo on Media and Publicity, Chidiebele Obika made the presentation during the Christmas party organized by the school management and held within the premises of the school.
Making the presentation, Chidiebele Obika thanked the teachers for guiding the pupils aright while noting that his principal – Lady Gwacham was in receipt of their letter of appreciation to her for renovating their classroom block and their appeal for a set of band which he came to deliver on her behalf.
Additionally, Obika informed the school management and pupils that in the spirit of Christmas celebration that the House of Representative member asked him to give them the sum of two hundred thousand naira only (N200,000) for their celebration.
Rev. Arinzechukwu Molokwu who represented the Vicar of Immanuel Anglican Church, Nkwelle Ezunaka, Rev. Cannon Dr Linus Akwudolu thanked Hon. lady Maureen Gwacham for the gesture.
Said he, “We thank her so much. She has won. She’s our prayer partner. When I was in Nteje, we used to pray the hour of grace together. We told her she will win. Today, she has won and God will continue seeing her through in all her endeavors. God will keep blessing her. Her second term is assured.”
Earlier while receiving the band on behalf of the school, the Headmistress, Mrs Felicia Anene was filled with joy, expressing her happiness over the gesture,
She stated that she was so happy immediately she saw us and the set of band. “we got happy. All our children are happy. We are praying God to give her more wisdom in good health. We are saying that her second term is assured. In politics, she will be very successful. We shall continue supporting her. Hon. Maureen Gwacham, we say carry go.”
For Lady Grace Azuogalanya, a Teacher with the school expressed her happiness over the items Hon. Gwacham brought for them. “I don’t know what to say. Because of her, I want to join politics. I want to be like her. I’m so happy. We were dancing since. Maka na nwanyi bu ife. See our school, she renovated it and dug borehole with overhead tank for us. We are so happy.”
On his part, Mr Godson Madukolu, the PTA Chairman.of the school commended Lady maureen Gwacham for all that she was doing for the pupil and school.
According to him, their classrooms were an eyesore before but Gwacham came and renovated them, dug borehole for them and installed overhead tank and now gifting them band and declared that God would bless her.
For little mss Nwude Chidimma, a Primary 5 pupil of the school stated that her prayers were that God would continue guiding and protecting her. That God would bless her going and coming back that everything she touched would be blessed.
