Two players from Heartland FC, Ikechukwu Mgbemmena and Christian Nkwo, have been called up to join the Super Eagles B team ahead of the 2025 African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifying match against Ghana.
The club shared the news of their players’ selection on social media, expressing pride in the recognition. “We are thrilled with invitations handed to two of our players Ikechukwu Mgbemmena and Christian Nkwo to join the CHAN Eagles squad,” Heartland posted on X.
The players will link up with the national squad immediately following Heartland’s matchday 10 fixture.
The first leg of the CHAN qualifier is set for December 20-22, with the second leg scheduled for the following weekend. The winner of the two-legged encounter will secure a spot at CHAN 2025, which will be co-hosted by Kenya, Mozambique, and Tanzania from February 1-28, 2025.
