Thousands of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) party members earlier today at the party’s regional secretariat in Awka converged to receive the national chairman of APGA, Chief Barr. Ezeokenwa Sly who was away from the state due to court cases concerning the party leadership but was finally laid to rest on November 27, 2024 by the supreme court in favour of APGA and Barrister Ezeokenwa.
Beginning his speech at the occasion, the national chairman of APGA, Barrister Sly Ezeokenwa started with a song: We are saying thank you Jesus, with its attendant chorus ” Thank you my Lord”.
Said he, ” God has made name for himself. We are here for celebration. But its a mini celebration after the 27th November, Supreme court judgement. Some persons made today a reality. First, we express our gratitude to God almighty who made everything possible.
According to mmilioma Ihiala, Rt. Hon. Paschal Agbodike, APGA is a divine movement specially ordained by God for the betterment of Nigeria.”
Ezeokenwa observed that since 2006, there have been consistent attempts aimed at destroying the party but according to him, ” APGA is a party specially ordained by God, APGA always come out victorious. Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo is the person to be celebrated. I’m not their target, Anambra is. On 17th March 2006, that was the day Anambra got liberated. So, all their antics are aimed at taking us back to Egypt or somalia.”
He informed that although the judgement was delivered on November 27, 2024, the party received the certified true copy of the supreme Court judgement yesterday
” We shall share it for all to see. According to Governor Soludo, APGA is thr foremost progressive party in Nigeria with core aims as
unity of Nigeria and development of the country. You can’t have a meaningful discussion about Nigeria without APGA being a part of it. We must become volunteers and partners of progressivism. Take the good message of APGA to anywhere and everywhere,” he charged.
In his remarks, the Deputy Governor of Anambra State, Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim observed that the national Chairman of APGA, Barr. Ezeokenwa was the only person that was convention certified and supreme court certified.
Dr Ibezim thanked everyone for coming out en masse to welcome the supreme court certified national chairman of APGA and opined that there were three religions in Anambra, viz; the first two and APGA. The party is a religion. A movement!
He stated that the Soludo government was doing very well in every sector in the state which were attributable to the APGA government and urged the people to continue supporting the party and government.
Speaking on behalf of the National Assembly members, the leader of APGA Caucus and House of Representatives member for Ihiala Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. Paschal Agbodike while congratulating the National Chairman, Barr. Ezeokenwa and National Leader of the party, Governor Chuma Soludo on the supreme court victory informed that people had already started lobbyimg to join the party.
He stated that the party rewards loyalty and that loyalty cannot be anything less than 100%. “Our national chairman is a true party man. He was born into APGA family. His father was the APGA chairman, Onitsha South LGA. He knows everything about the party”.
Chief of Staff to Governor Soludo, Chief Ernest Ezeajughi who spoke on behalf of the state Exco members stated that they were at the occasion to thank God for giving APGA and Governor Soludo victory over the detractors.
He highlighted that God knew where the hearts of ndi anambra lie and what the people need and declared that there was no vacancy in Anambra state.
