Igwe Oranu Urges Traditional Rulers to Avoid Partisan Politics

Igwe Chris Oranu, the traditional ruler of Omor in Ayamelum Local Government Area, has called on his fellow traditional rulers to steer clear of partisan politics. Speaking at his palace, Igwe Oranu emphasized that the traditional stool is a sacred institution meant to serve the interests of the community impartially, and urged his colleagues to remain neutral in political matters.

He reaffirmed his commitment to non-partisanship, stating that all members of his community, including political figures, are his subjects and should be treated equally. While expressing support for Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s administration, the royal father clarified that his role is to foster unity and support policies that advance the development of Anambra State.

On the upcoming local government elections, Igwe Oranu highlighted the vital role of the Anambra State Independent Electoral Commission (ANSIEC) in ensuring credible elections. He expressed confidence in ANSIEC’s leadership, chaired by Magistrate Genevieve Osakwe, praising her professionalism and commitment to delivering free and fair elections. He urged all stakeholders to support ANSIEC’s efforts in conducting elections that truly reflect the will of the people.
