Since the press release declaring September 28, 2024 as the date for the Anambra 2024 Local Government Council election as signed by the ANSIEC Chairman, Genevieve Osakwe Esq was made public, some political leaders have been trying to hoodwink their members by announcing a boycott of the process.
IPAC in its wisdom has seen the need to fully participate in the development of Anambra communities by keying in and participating in the process.
According to the Chairman of the Inter-party Advisory Committee (IPAC), Anambra State, Mr. Uche Ugwuoji, members of the committee will be participating in the upcoming September 28 election.
He gave the assurance Thursday during a meeting of leaders of political parties and state Independent Electoral Commission (ANSIEC) leadership held at the state electoral commission’s headquarters in Awka.
Ugwuoji noted that their decision was borne out of the assurance of the ANSIEC leadership that the whole process will be transparent and that they have applied to INEC for voters register.
In my opinion, IPAC acted rightly by declaring its stand as the Anambra electorate have been on the lookout for the council election and anything short of it would amount to sabotage.
Party leaders must maintain good following by ensuring that they adopt people oriented policies for their political parties and put the people first in everything they do.
