The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has issued a cautionary statement urging Nigerians to beware of candidates presenting printed result slips, as the current UTME results are not available in any paper format.
Dr. Fabian Benjamin, spokesperson for JAMB, emphasized the necessity of this information, particularly in light of individuals circulating printed result slips on social media platforms. He clarified that unlike last year, the 2024 UTME results are not accessible on the JAMB website.
According to Benjamin, the only legitimate method to check the 2024 UTME result is by sending “UTMERESULT” to either 55019 or 66019, using the phone number used during registration for the UTME. He emphasized the importance of ensuring that the SIM card is not connected to any data bundle.
Benjamin reiterated that candidates should refrain from visiting cybercafes or seeking assistance from third-party entities to check their results. He cautioned the public against trusting candidates who present printed result slips, as the current results are not available in paper format.
While a significant number of candidates have successfully checked their results, Benjamin urged those encountering difficulties to follow the prescribed method diligently.
JAMB had earlier announced the release of the 2024 UTME results, revealing that the results of 64,624 out of the 1,904,189 candidates who sat for the examination were withheld pending further investigation.
