Dr. Abdul-Azeez Adediran, also known as Jandor, the 2023 governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos State, has met with President Bola Tinubu, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, and other prominent leaders as part of his political consultations following his resignation from the PDP.
His spokesperson, Gbenga Ogunleye, confirmed the meeting with Tinubu, which took place on Monday, in a statement released on Thursday.
According to Ogunleye, Jandor had previously met with former President Ibrahim Babangida, former Head of State Gen. Abdusalami Abubakar, and the 2023 Social Democratic Party (SDP) presidential candidate, Prince Adewole Adebayo. The consultations are part of Jandor’s strategy after leaving the PDP.
Ogunleye also revealed that PDP’s National Secretary and other party leaders recently visited Jandor to persuade him to reconsider his resignation.
Jandor, who cited indiscipline and anti-party activities as reasons for his departure, accused the PDP national leadership of betraying him before the Lagos governorship election. He claimed that a false alliance claim led PDP supporters to vote for another candidate, costing him victory.
Jandor is set to meet with his political associates and key stakeholders in Lagos over the weekend and will address the media on Monday, March 17, 2025.
