Japanese Government Donates Vehicles, Trucks, and Flood Detection Equipment to Anambra State

The Government of Japan, in collaboration with the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS), has donated vital resources to Anambra State as part of the “Emergency Support to Climate Change” initiative. This donation is aimed at mitigating the effects of the 2022 floods and improving the state’s preparedness for future climate-related disasters.

The donated resources include 10 vehicles to enhance logistical capabilities, advanced information and communication technology tools, and two GPS water level detection sensors strategically placed at key riverbank locations. These sensors will significantly improve the state’s flood detection and response capacity, ensuring a swift and effective approach to tackling floods and other climate-induced challenges.

Governor Charles Soludo expressed his gratitude for the timely intervention, which is expected to bolster efforts in safeguarding communities across the state.
