American actor and wrestler John Cena has expressed concerns about his readiness to become a parent. In a recent interview with Club Shay Shay, the 47-year-old admitted that he fears he may never be prepared to invest the time required to be a “great parent.” Cena, who has been married twice but has no children, explained that he still has many personal and professional goals he wants to achieve.
“My biggest fear is I don’t think I’m personally ready, nor will I ever be, to invest the time it takes to be a great parent,” Cena stated. He noted that while he and his current wife, Shay Shariatzadeh, share the same values and have discussed the issue, he remains focused on his ongoing career and finds fulfillment in his life as it is.
Cena’s first marriage was to Elizabeth Huberdeau on July 11, 2009; they divorced on July 18, 2012. His second marriage, to Shay Shariatzadeh, took place on October 12, 2020, following a relationship that began in early 2019. Neither marriage produced children.
