Jose Mourinho Reveals Reason for Avoiding Stamford Bridge Despite Proximity

Former Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has disclosed why he ceased attending matches at Stamford Bridge, despite residing just “two minutes” away from the stadium.

Mourinho, who enjoyed two highly successful spells with the Blues, including securing back-to-back Premier League titles and other domestic trophies, explained his decision during an interview with A Bola.

Despite recent rumors linking him with a potential return to Chelsea amidst pressure on current manager Mauricio Pochettino, Mourinho clarified his stance.

“In London, I live two minutes from Chelsea’s stadium. From my house, you can hear the goals and people’s demonstrations,” Mourinho revealed.

He elaborated further, stating, “The day the stadium started singing my name, I stopped going to football. I have to go to other stadiums.”

Mourinho expressed frustration with the incessant speculation regarding his potential managerial return to Chelsea, stating, “They started asking questions like [will you become manager], and I’m not going anymore. They screwed my life up with those questions.”

Instead, Mourinho indicated a preference for attending matches at stadiums farther from his residence, such as Benfica’s Luz stadium, where the travel distance offers him a respite from unwanted attention and speculation.
